I was born in Pakistan, a country of remarkable beauty, warm hospitality and generous people. Its northern mountains can rival some of Europe’s most beautiful destinations.
Having travelled to more than 60 countries, I sometimes feel more like a stranger in my birthplace than elsewhere. That is the complicated feeling of belonging to a place while spending much of your life beyond it.
Despite its political and economic challenges, Pakistan will always be part of me. Its people, beauty and potential deserve to be seen by the world.
